6. After Rush
After rush was over I found myself thinking .. "where do i need to be," "what do i need to be doing, " or "what do i need to be wearing." this funny questions haunted most of these the next few days. I was finally able to start catching up with school and doing more with friends. Although it's funny that I think I did better with school work when I had more to do and less time to work. Right now I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. I feel like the days are longer and more dragged out and I'm just ready for the holidays to get away for awhile. I've started to really notcie that there is not mcuh to do around this campus. I miss seeing everyone everynight making memories that will carry us out through the years. So now that rush is over I look forward to the holidays to take a break from school and everything else attached to it! It's nice to be able to go home!
5. Rush
Rush is a lonnngg tiring process that is just spread out over a month or so. At first I was all up for it then after awhile I was just ready to get pinned. Laguna's rush process was prolonged because of some issues. Obviously we were upset.. on top of having to do more rush stuff we had school, family, and friends to deal with. We all had out hopes up to get pinned the following week then it was just a total let down. Through all of this our pledge class has really come together and finished to the end. People who werent to into laguna dropped so if left us with a pledge class who really wanted to to be in laguna. What was the worst of it all was that we didnt know when we were going to get pinned. We got surprised one sunday night and got pinned. It was such a relief for us all! We found out who are big sisters were! It was really rewarded to go through all of that with my new sisters and still come out strong. We were encouraged by some sophomore girls to keep pushing on which was a huge blessing at the time when everyone was down. So I'm very proud of our pledge class and I wouldnt take back any moment spent with them over the (not so much) rush process. I'm very happy to be a laguna active now and have all these new sisters to share the next 3 years with!

4. Fall Break!
I wish MC's fall break lasted a little longer. Mine was pretty interesting. Friday morning i had to get up at 4AM and drive back to Montgomery which usually takes about 4 and a half hours it took me only 3 and a half.. there was no one on the road! My old best friend's mom died that past week and I had to get home for the funeral.. I wouldl have left the night before but we had pledge stuff. I got there around 8 and went to eat with a bunch of my friends at ihop around 9. We went to the church for the funeral around 10:30.. We sat down in the pues in silence for awhile bc the last time we were all in that church together was graduation day. My friend planned the funeral all by herself (yes shes 18) and it was a beautiful celebration of her moms life. That afternoon my friend drove to chattanooga for a rowing competition .. she made the rowing team at georgia tech.. it wa sher mom's last wish that she went for she was soo proud of her! I headed up tp birmingham with my family for my best friends family weekend (she lives with us). It was nice.. me, cassie, and my mom stayed at my brothers house while he was gone and just chilled and watched movies. My sister and niece came up saturday and we went shopping. We all left sunday afternoon to go back to montgomery. I was so happy to be back in town for awhile.. I hadnt been back since I left for college. I called some friends and surprised them and told them I was here.. it was fun! Now this past week was hard to get back in the routine of school. But I'm back and we have sooo many test and follies practice this week.. im not looking forward to it at all!!

3. LT!! and Family Weekend!
So, this week has been amazing! I got into the tribe that I really wanted and I got see my family as well as my best friend. Thursday night we found out which tribe we were going to be in. We were told to get in bed at nine with all the lights out and just wait. My roomate isn't rushing, but she was still so sweet to sit with me durning this nerve racking time. I started to hear banging on the doors down the hall and I was just thinking ahhhh the whole time. Then they came to my room and gave me a sheet of paper and I had to unscramble all the letters.. it was Lat-Web and I was told to go there next. The guy there made a few girls and I sing the Saved by the Bell theme song.. that wasn't bad because I love Save by the Bell. He gave us out pass to the next place.. it took us awhile to unscramble the letters but we finally got it. The guy here made us squel call light you would for a pig.. thank goodness I wasn't the only one there having to do it. After that i was told to go above the cafe and I will find my tribe. I was getting really nervous.. I honestly would be happy in any tribe but there is just something about Laguna. We went finally got above the cafe and heard people singing "aint no party like an NT party because a NT party dont stop".. i was like hold up.. I don't think this is the right place. Finally Alice was like they are messing with us so we opened the door and LT started screaming it was awesome!! They made us feel so welcome! We got two shirts and some notebooks for the future. We meet everyone, had food and drinks, and took a lot of pictures. We were given a kind of overwhelming amount of stuff to do but now its not as bad as I thought and I can't wait to see what the year holds.
My family (mom, dad, sister, and niece) came in on Friday as well as my best friend who lives with us now.. she attends Samford in Birmingham. I was so excited to show them my life over here and what MC has to offer. Friday night we ate at Froghead Grill and just chilled out for awhile. The next morning we were suppose to go to the Mother-Daughter Tea with Laguna but I got the times mixed up because they had changed so instead we went to the Rennisance in Ridgeland and shopped the day awhile. We ate at Sweet Peppers which was really good. I hope they had fun there because i couldnt find anything to do in Clinton haha. My best friend stayed in the dorms with me all week which was excited and she got to meet all my friends. Over all this week was a really fun week!!

2. Rushhhhhhh
Rush has been interesting here at MC compared to most colleges. I really like it here though because you can pick the tribe that best suits your personality, they are trying to impress you instead of you trying to act a certain way to impress them, and they don't put you through a lot of what most colleges do. So I was really happy about all that. So far we've had the General Rush Meeting basically telling us the do's and don'ts of Rush and introduced some of the tribes. Next we had to do community service at a place that was soon going to hold church services. That was really fun to experience with everyone. We had the tailgating that afternoon then the game. I had a lot of fun at tailgating seeing the different tribes, taking pictures, and eating of course. MC won their first game so that was exciting I guess there's just something about playing at home. Friday night we had Laguna and kissimee perform their rush skits, they were amazing! I had so much fun getting dressed up with friends. We had to dress up as a pirate or a ninja.. I chose to be a pirate. For Kissimee we had to dress up as a shoe, now that was interesting to see what people came up with. My friend and I just did a cowboy boat, it was fun! Saturday night Swannanoa and Nenamoosha performed. For Swannanoa we had to dress up as a vegetable or a hot dat. I was a carrot.. haha. My friends won a t-shirt they were literally a "hot date" with fire.. etc. For Nenamoosha we had to dress up as a dancer.. so we found old costums and put them on.. they were so cute! All in all rush skits were amazing and alot of fun I like how they let us participate by dressing up. Tomorrow night and Tuesday night we have to run around and get the head people of the tribes to sign a paper.. that's going to be mass chaos.

Hey ya'll! My name is katherine. I have lived in Montgomery, Alabama my whole life. I heard about MC through a friend who was going to go here a few years ago so I decided to look in to it. I have loved every minute of it so far and I'm looking forward to see what God has in store for me. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to major in.
I like going to the movies, playing in the rain, facebook/text messaging, taking pictures, green and blue, hearing new music, reading when i have the time to, swinging, the country, going to the lake/beach, traveling, and europe.
